Ballyhackamore Credit Union (BHCU) is delighted to mark a significant milestone in its almost 60-year history with the official opening of its new premises at 520 Upper Newtownards Road, adjacent to the Knock traffic lights beside SD Bells.
This move places the credit union firmly at the centre of its common bond area, which includes BT3, BT4, BT5, BT16, BT18, BT22 and BT23, making it even more accessible to members who live or work locally.
As a not-for-profit, member-owned financial cooperative, BHCU continues to offer a strong alternative to traditional banking. Any surplus generated is reinvested back into the credit union and the wider community, rather than distributed to external shareholders.
The new premises also reflect BHCU’s modern approach to lending through its “Join Today, Borrow Today” policy. New members can now access fair and affordable finance without the need for a long savings history. With competitive loan rates starting from 9%, flexible repayment options, and the ability to borrow up to £20,000 over shares, BHCU supports members through life’s planned and unexpected expenses alike.
Looking to the future, members can also benefit from convenient online access via the BHCU mobile app, making it easier than ever to manage accounts anytime, anywhere.
Members and prospective members are warmly invited to visit the new office and discover how Ballyhackamore Credit Union continues to support the community it serves.
